I’ve always been politically active – I read and watch the news, listen to podcasts, form opinions, discuss my opinions, and show up to vote. I have even made a tradition of wearing red, white, and blue on election days. When I voted in the democratic caucus this year, I embarrassed my fiancee, Ryan, by singing “Yankee Doodle” in line.

This year, I’m looking for new opportunities to participate in my community, to organize people around causes I care about, and to learn and expand my understanding of the issues and people around me.

In the meantime, I’m making sure my voice is heard – I’m setting a goal to write a letter/email (sometimes short, sometimes long) to an elected representative every day. To hold myself accountable, I’m posting them here.

Please feel free to copy and paste what I write for your own letters to officials, share on social media, or comment your thoughts/opinions.
